This Simpson 270 Series 4 has the 00248 Roll Top Case option.

 The Simpson 270-4RT has the Taut Band Suspension and a mirrored dial to eliminate parallax errors.

The 270 Series 4RT has the three Amp-Clamp scales.

Controls include: Ohms zero adjustment, AC - DC - Select, a 12 position Function / Range

selector switch, and eight recessed probe jacks.

The off or "transit" position is at the 500 MA position on the function switch.

Access to battery / fuse compartment requires the removal of the two small screws on the

side panels, the entire back slides out leaving the sides and front intact.

This photograph shows the locations of the fuse and batteries in the back of the meter.

The 1 1/2 Volt "D" cell is used to power the R X 1 and R X 100 Ohms ranges.

The 9 Volt battery is used to power the R X 10,000 Ohms range and the overload circuits.

The batteries can be accessed through a removable cover on the back with a coin-slot screw.

The back cover of the Roll Top Case must be removed first.
