2006 Jeep® Commander

This is our 2006 Jeep Commander in "Bright Silver Metallic", the same color as our 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo.

The Commander was introduced in August 2005 for the 2006 model year.

Although built on the same chassis as the Grand Cherokee, the Commander is longer, taller and wider.

17" wheels with tire pressure monitoring, fold away mirrors, and roof rack (but not cross rails) are standard.

Additions include the factory Class III hitch, front license plate holder and roof rack cross rails.

The rear tail, brake and backup lights have been changed to LED's, and the painted grille to a chrome one.

The passengers ride "stadium seating" with each row of seats higher than the one in front of it.

Seven passenger seating in three rows, with the aerodynamics of a brick.

This model has the 3.7 Liter 210-horsepower V-6 engine with a 5 speed automatic transmission 

and Quadra-Trac l ® full time 4 wheel drive.

It produces 210 hp @ 5200 rpm and 235 lb.-ft. (319 N•m) @ 4000 rpm. 

The Drag Coefficient ( Cd ) of the 2006 Jeep Commander is 0.415

All controls are conveniently mounted within reach of the driver.  < Humor

Front row has bucket seats, the driver's seat is power, the passenger seat is manual.

Middle row has seating for three, an arm rest with cup holders folds down in middle for two passengers.

The second row of seats split 40 - 20 - 40.

You can't see much out the rear window with the third row of seats up.

The two passengers back here should be natives of Munchkinland to have a comfortable ride.

The third row of seats split 50 - 50.

Rear seat down allows 36.4 cu. ft. of cargo room. Controls for the rear heat and air conditioning are on the right.
