1993 Jeep®

Cherokee Country

This was our 1993 Jeep Cherokee Country painted "Champagne Pearl".

This Jeep Cherokee line in the United States was manufactured between the model years

of 1984 and 2001. The Cherokee line was redesigned and renamed Liberty

in the U.S. however the Cherokee name remains on the redesign in the U.K.

The "Country Decor" package was the highest of three trim levels offered in 1993, the others were

base and sport. The Country package had the lower trim, bumper ends and fender flares painted

Champagne Pearl or Silver. The Cherokee Country was offered from 1993 to 1997.

On all of the Cherokees from 1997 to 2001, the hatchbacks were made of steel instead of fiberglass,

and the body style was changed to a more rounded look at the edges.

The "XJ" on the license plate and the oval decal refer to the manufactures designation of the model line.

Others include the CJ for the classic style Jeep made until 1986, YJ for the classic style Jeep made

from 1987 to 1995 and TJ for the classic style Jeep made from 1997 on. The ZJ is for the Jeep

Grand Cherokee made from 1993 to 1998 and the WJ is for the Jeep Grand Cherokee

made from 1999 to 2004. The 2005 Grand Cherokee started the WK line. The Comanche pickup

truck was known as the MJ. The Jeep Liberty made from 2002 and on are known as a KJ.

The new Commander model for 2006 is the XK.

The Cherokee badge was also used on the larger sportier version of the Wagoneer from 1974 to 1983.

144,961 Jeep Cherokees were built in 1993, and 2,884,172 were produced between 1984 and 2001.

The front shots were taken before the installation of the front 2" Draw-Tite receiver.

Trivia:

In 1953 Kaiser acquired Willys-Overland to form Kaiser-Jeep,  but they didn't use that name until 1963.

In 1970 American Motors Corporation took over Kaiser-Jeep, and in 1987 Chrysler bought AMC.

Chrysler is now Chrysler LLC.

This Jeep is equipped with the chrome exterior package, a 4.0 liter inline 6 cylinder engine, the
