1994 Jeep®

Grand Cherokee Limited

This was our 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited painted "Hunter Green Metallic".

The Jeep Grand Cherokee line in the United States has been manufactured since 1993.

The "Limited" package was the highest of three trim levels offered in 1994, the others were SE and Laredo.

The Grand Cherokee was never made in a two door model.

The "ZJ" on the license plate and the oval decal refer to the manufactures designation of the model line.

Others include the CJ for the classic style Jeep made until 1986, YJ for the classic style Jeep made from

1987 to 1995 and TJ for the classic style Jeep made from 1997 on. The XJ is for the Cherokee

made from 1984 to 2001 and the WJ is for the Jeep Grand Cherokee made from 1999 to 2004.

The 2005 Grand Cherokee started the WK line. The Comanche pickup truck was known as the MJ.

The Jeep Liberty made from 2002 and on are known as a KJ.

The new Commander model for 2006 is the XK.

In 1993 a Grand Wagoneer was offered, it had the fake wood grain on the sides but retained the

same body style of the Grand Cherokee, it only lasted one year and was then dropped from production.

The two front end photographs above were taken after I installed all new lights on the front and

replaced the cracked header panel.

Trivia:

A quote from www.jeep.com , the Chrysler LLC page for Jeep owners.

"The unique look of the Jeep seven-slot grille has never gone away.

It's the calling card for the ultimate off-road vehicle."

HOWEVER . . .

The Cherokee (XJ) line had a ten slot grille from 1984 to 1987, an eight slot grille from 1988 to 1996 and

the seven slot grille from 1997 to 2001. The 1977 Cherokee had a TWENTY-TWO slot grille and the 1963

Wagoneer had twelve slots. The Grand Cherokee had a eight slot grill from 1993 to 1995

and then changed to the "never gone away" seven slot grille in 1996.
